A selection of short films spanning two stages in my village under very different circumstances create brushstrokes inspired by the reception of colour in a place.

The first stage is dominated by blue - spoken or written, sometimes reinforced by the use of pigment or digital manipulation. In the next stage, forced by a devastating fire, the predominant colours change to black and white, sometimes with some brushstrokes of red or green, with the voice hushed. There is nothing more to add.

The same place, the same landscape provokes diametrically opposite associations in a space of time of only three years.
