Bathroom Music creates a special and unexpected atmosphere for the most forgotten and neglected place: the bathroom. Birdsong, the rhythms of stones, the sound of a river or the rustling of paper make up an ambient music that symbolically opens up this dark, interior space.
Bathroom Music is a permanent installation, a gift dedicated to the bathroom.
Bathroom Music is based on recordings of different sounds: birds, stones, water and paper. These sounds I then modified on the computer with the program ProTools - cutting them, arranging them, altering the volume, working with multiple plug-ins, e.g. different filters, Time Extension Compression, Pitch Shift. From various transformations, the assembly in multiple sound layers and the order of particular sounds, melodies and rhythms are produced, stones begin to breathe, paper to talk and water to sing.
The compositions have a duration of 7 to 10 minutes and are repeated continuously, producing ambient music in the bathroom. It can be used in different types of bathrooms: in theatres, cinemas, restaurants, galleries or museums, ...and also in the most intimate place of our home.
